I would like to ride and be able to listen to my ipod.. is it better to get the helmet speaker set up? (seems like it would be harder to hear the sorroundings and thus more dangerous) or should i mount a couple of waterproof speakers on my bike? I've seen kits for both but can't decide...

any good sites i could be directed to?

    thanks in advance

I ride with music all the time, my commute to work is 30 minutes there and depending on traffic the same amount of time back, I have the iphone and use the earbuds that are with it, I found these:

I would like to find a wireless pair, but im saving money for chatterbox with bluetooth to see how I can get that to work with music. You may want to look into chatterbox depending on how much you ride or ride with friends on long trips

keep me posted on what you find....

hmm thanks for quick response! It seems like mounted speakers would be pretty hard to hear over the bike and helmet anyway.. i just always like the cruisers with indash cd player and stuff. i guess ill experiment around with some earbuds.. good link, the helmet setup is right in my price range ;)

    Hey Tex.

Funny you mention music, as I just picked up a MP3 player (recommended by another member) this past weekend at Circuit City. It works great so far. It is a Sandisk - Sansa C250 (2gb). I bought some skull candy noise isolation earphones to go with it. Having an earphone with the right fit and noise isolation is very important otherwise you will probably further exacerbate hearing loss as you have to blast your music louder directly into your eardrum to compensate for the loud wind noise. If you feel like reading thru some emotional comments, this music thread (see link below) has some user preferences and recommendations. Some drama in it though.

Did you get the Arm slider/band too? I was at Radio shack again and they had some for the 9.99 so I picked up another spare....
