    A little background, just got this bike, its an 1986 California vf500f. Rebuilding the carbs i noticed there doesn't seem to be anything connecting the idle screw to the carburetor?

    Is it missing a linkage to the throttle from the idle?

    the idle ADjustymentt screw is normally set to that it's just barely starting to move the contact point.

    Yeah its just grabbing air. I guess whoever did the carb last forgot that part....probably why it sat for so long. Thanks for the help. Do you know what that part # would be or where i can find a replacement?

    The red arrow is the direction the screw is going the spring near the top of the photo belongs to the adjustment screw

    see if it makes sense to flip the direction of the bracket holding the adjustment screw.
