OMG...have you ridden up north of you to everything glorious that is in and around the Great Smoky Mountains?
If I lived near you, I'd be up there all the time!

Sounds like Kansas roads...always boring, but there really isn't anything out here anyway.
Good thing I have the passion to ride. I want to go to CO here soon for a weekend. It will happen.

Yes, good to mention about mileage. When I go on a long ride, I try to allocate 2 hours pad time to the day (in addition to gas/food stops) to allow for exploring. That also adds some mileage. But the map and actual milage was off by 121 miles...so not sure how accurate my mapping of my routes were.

Anyhoo...here's a meme to break up the text. LOLzzzz
Hope you get out and ride!

Yup, blood mountain, tail of the dragon, 348, warwoman, cherohola skyway, blue ridge parkway, etc...

They're all beautiful and that area is a motorcycle paradise. But like I said before it just gets boring and when going on blood mountain for the 50th time it gets a bit old. Don't you feel sorry for me? Ha haha!

I feel so sorry for you... LOL

I've only ridden those areas one time in my life in 2012 on my way to Gaspé. I cannot wait to go back and do those roads again.

But if you do them and post ride reports, it will be like I am on the trip... Vicariously...hint hint LOL

Poor guy:frown-new: Being able to ride R.B.Russell and Blood Mtn often must be very trying and a hardship one man shouldn't have to bear.

and a youtube of going on the dragon, not the best quality but hey it was a cheap camera: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPGOuedzqjg

and well, I never really took pictures of blood mountain but some professional photographer snapped some pictures so here you go: http://vfrworld.com/photos/showgallery.php/cat/936

I'm probably gonna sound like an entitled snob but R.B.Russel is a bit overrated. Almost every time I've been there I've seen gravel on some parts of the road, especially in tight corners. Loose gravel is the last place you want to see in a tight corner and I find that I always have to slow it down a little when riding RRR. IMO Blood Mountain is the best road in the area ever because the roads are good, smooth and barely have any houses or businesses. It's basically about 14 miles of uninterrupted road and some sections even are 3 lanes wide so you can really have some fun pushing it going from one lane to the other. The only negative, if anything about it is that ironically everyone loves it and there are problems with squids and cops. When I feel like having some fun I always do a scout run first to make sure there aren't any cops or crazy squids. I'm more worried about crazy squids, they can cause accidents with their reckless riding.

And with that here's an obligatory related meme:

I'm kind of glad that I don't live that close to those great roads. It would be horrible to almost get bored with them, but that's inevitable I'm afraid.

    That's an amazing meme, Joey_Dude!!!!!
Thank you for posting the videos and info. Good to know about those roads.

It's sooooo valuable to have so many people all around to share info on what's really good compared to what outsiders hear. Helps us not waste time on some stuffs. Of course, some things will be matter of opinion, but I'd rather listen to others on most stuff than waste my time.

Well i don't know about an amazing meme, that's a first world problem meme and I just used a meme generator at imgflip.com But thanks anyway :D

So if you find yourself in GA here's a best-of-GA tour that you could do: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/34....fed96523a8!2m2!1d-83.7315675!2d34.7014839!3e0

Note that it ends in Helen, which is kind of a touristy german themed town. They have sauerkraut, apple strudels, etc.... kind of a fun place to have lunch after riding around.

And further up north here's cherohala and tail of the dragon: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Che...0x885ec0814e0ef167:0xd1499efe9292ab00!1m0!3e0

The tail of the dragon isn't bad, the roads sometimes get too crowded and sometimes there's garbage on the road. But one cool thing about the dragon is you can get your picture taken. There's a famous photographer, killboy.com https://www.facebook.com/killboydotcom/?fref=ts

You could do both of the above in a really long day but in my opinion that would be the best the area has to offer. Feel free to add this to your bucket list!
