Ok. First of all. I have a 1985 VF500F... Now I was wiring up my front turn signals with the power turned on because I forgot it was on...:hurt: I KNOW BIG STUPID DUMB A$$ MISTAKE on my part... but while I was connecting the wires I sustained a light shock in my fingers and smoke emitted from the rear tail of my bike...? Now the bike will not respond to ANYTHING. all the fuses are prefectly fine. But the bike will not start, turn over, or anything. Its just sitting dead. I also tried jump starting it but there was no response.... PLEASE HELP if you are a mechanic or know anything about my problem!!!!

    Thanks in advance.

I would test each fuse, sometimes they can LOOK ok but are not making good contact. Did you find the source of the smoke from the rear? any burnt wires?

I checked the visible wires in the rear which the only ones visible are the wires from my fender eliminator. Nothing appears to be burnt but there was some major smoking for a brief second. So I am about to go out to the garage and inspect it. I will also double check/test the fuses! This sucks cause I am currently trying to sell the bike and everything was great until now.... Thanx for the advice!

I think we have all been in that situation when things go wrong at the worst times!! Im not sure on your bike but follow the positive lead off the battery and follow it to a possible fuse block there too.

Good JOB !!! you should be able to replace it at most auto parts places. What are you going to do for a bike once its sold? Or are you done with bikes :)

NO NOT DONE WITH BIKES... I purchased the bike to learn since last year was the first time ever on a bike. And the VF500F was a perfect learning bike and a lot of fun. I want to upgrade to a bigger bike. I was kind of hung on the sport bikes but I am a honda man so a CBR was on my mind but I cruise a lot more than just go short distances. So I rode my friends 2008 CBR600RR and it was fun but I HATED IT AFTER ONLY 1hour of riding (mostly in the city) so I quickly changed my mind after riding my friends 2006 VFR800!!! Loved it. So I want to stay with Interceptor and get a newer one. I just dont want to pay 10,000 for one like all the dealers around me are asking but that is for a new one. So I dont know what will happen but I am definately going to get another VFR. But I want to sell my bike first.
