Any members here on VFRworld happen to be machinists by trade? I have a question about the possibility of fabricating an adjustable gearshift lever for the VFR. Below is a link for a similar item where the toe piece incorporates an eccentric offset to allow infinite adjustability, and I think the design could be modified for a splined VFR application.

I'm an engineer by trade - sure something like that could be made for the VFR,
it's all machine time and set-up. Just guessing onezie cost $250-$350. Also - the part looks like it starts out as a casting, so even more bucks. As useual with any part, the more of them you make the less the price gets. You would probably need to knock off 50 of them to see an effect.

    - why not adjust yours up or down a spline?

I was thinking that I could use some rearsets for my bike and them I looked at the way these peg mounts are attached. What a challenge it would be to machine up a beast like this with adjustable peg mount points!

    Hey NVR2L8,
Im a machinist, most of what I work on is in the medical industry ( bone screws, cervical plates). Stuff I hope to never need myself. I looked at the picture and the adjustment is just the actual lever that your toe touches right? making up one as a one timer on free time as long as I was able to get the correct measurments would'nt be too bad. looks like the adjustment is just from the slit that is going into the hole that holds the toe piece and the bolt or socket head cap screw is used to squeeze the piece tight to stay in place. Maybe i'll see if i can use some extra titanium from work to see if it works. If im able to i'll take a picture of it and try to post it. I would'nt be able to do it for a week or two though.

just went out into the garage to look at my bike (6th gen) and probobly doing it durning the winter would be best that way I could take that piece off my bike and reverse engineer it.
