Hi because of my stumpy legs, does anyone have a lowering kit for a 1996 750 that they would like to give to me if they are not using it or maybe sell it to me

There's Lust Racing, they sell lowering kits, not sure if they have them for your year though. Worth checking out, they're in the UK too!

I tried flipping the triangle on our '96 and it would not work. It's been so long I don't remember why. I used it as a template to make two new triangle lower shock mounts and figured the distance of the hole spread to get exactly 1" drop at the rear. Then so pulled the fork tube up in the triple tree clamps the same distance.
A word of caution. This pretty much ruined the handling as far as curves and there are other associated problems. Two up is out because the stock shock won't adjust enough to keep fro bottoming. Granted, I was 230lbs and my wife is....75% of that ! Ha! We have both have lost a considerable amount of weight since then but haven't tried to up.
Also the center stand is a pain and a bumper has to be made. Side stand in stock form will barely hold the bike at an angle just off verticle. Can't trust it.
    Get some thicker soles.

Seriously it was a pain in the ass to fabricate the two plates. I looked everywhere and couldn't find lowering links or anything like them so I had to do it myself. The single side swing arm makes it an odd beast and not as easy as most single point attachment shocks to lower. The center stand rubbed the chain as I recall. My advice is find another way.

Apologies for being harsh. The lowering of the VFR was a bad time in my life. Here is a not too clear pic I took about an hour ago. You will see two holes because my math was off. [IMG]

Is it possible to lower the forks too, i don't want to compromise the handling of the bike, so by lowering the rear and the front by the same margin should be ok? Right??

Yes, basically you will raise the fork tubes up in the triple clamps, this will lower the front end. You want to keep the same rake/trail as it was in stock form, so raising them only requires a little change. I don't know the exact amount to raise the tubes but someone here might have that number. For reference, check out this wiki on rake/trail geometry as it might help. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicycle_and_motorcycle_geometry
You just have to be careful not to go too much as a fully compressed front end could have your tire hitting something which wouldn't be good. Many people have done this without issue so it's not like you'd be the first to try it. Note, you may have to cut your side stand down so it can still lean on the stand.

    Hi Kavo,

I have a pdf file with the dimensions of the triangles both the original and to raise or lower your vfr. But I can not upload them because of the filesize limitations on this page, so if you have a mail box, I can send the pdf-file to you.

    Best regards from denmark

Flip the triangle would not work on this model.
