Lost turn signals and 4 way flashers I just noticed. Will check the fuse box on the left panel. 2007 800 ABS. If it is not a fuse, I was wondering if maybe a burnt out bulb could cause all to go out? Also , is there a flasher unit that could have failed?

Thanks for any help. I am on my mobile.

Its on the left front side upper cowl panel under the wind screen. the non-abs model is on the right side. if your sitting on the bike it is the top piece of your front cowl fairing(color matched not black). You will need to remove the bolts and then pry/slide out the tab. The fuse box is right below it.

Issue resolved. The ABS version has two fuse boxes. One on each side. The smaller fuses were on the right side and a 10 amp spare resolved the issue. Will monitor to see why it blew, but at least the turn signals are working again..

Crap, the spare fuse has blown too.
Now what? I could try and look for a chaffed wire somewhere. Anyone got any suggestions ?
Anyone had this problem before? Would it help to replace the fuse and try left and right signals ? Would that isolate which side it is? Gonna. Post in the general forum also. Thanks.

Did you work on the rear fender mod or messing around with the bike? Check all the wires and connectors

Put another fuse in and see if it blows straight away, if not move the steering from side to side and if it blows you know the problem is up the front somewhere, then look for any wire rubbed through in the area or being pulled on as the steering turns. Just a good place to start

Have you changed any bulbs lately? Putting the wrong bulb in can cause problems. Changing a 4 watt for a 40 watt will draw 10 times the current. If not you may be looking for a skinned wire. An amprobe could be helpful in this case. If it drawing more than 10 amps when active you will have to trace down the problem. On a machine we can divide an conquer. By this I mean splitting the circuit and seeing which side is drawing the amps. On bikes this is much harder because of the connectors. If worse comes to worse you can cut and splice if you must. If you decide to do this (normal inspection does not reveal the culprit) I would split the bike from front to back. Also look for lights that don't come on. The usual culprits are around motion or where friction or tension is on the wires. Good luck!

I am still working on this issue. I removed all the plastic last night. I can't seem to recreate the problem in the garage. Yet it works for a while on the road!
The bulbs , wires, connections appear to be normal. Can someone explain the two different relays related to turn signal shown on the wiring diagram? I guess the one that says turn/position must run only on the front? Wondering if either could be suspect? They are not cheap for experimenting. Right now, on the lift, naked everything works. What a PITA. I have a 1200 mile twisty ride starting 9/7/13 and may need to ride my ST1300. No where near as fun as the VFR.

image.jpg Found it! That Connector in the center of the dashboard the wire bundle on it was rubbing on a sharp bracket to the right, in front of the connector. Taped it up and it works like a champ. The is why it was intermittent, mainly shorted out going over bumps.
