    Hi,
I'm travelling to Western MA from New Brunswick CANADA for a week this June (7-14).

I will be staying not far from Albany NY and also plan to be in Norwich CT for a couple of days.

The purpose of the trip is strictly R&R; I'm seeking advice on interesting roads, sights, destinations and / or entertainment.

Also curious as to how secure the bike should be in these areas. Where I live, you can park your bike anywhere un-attended without worry day or night.

    Thanks in advance.

Your bike should be pretty safe...Don't leave the Key in the ignition.... on your way to Albany you will of course be cutting through NH... Kangamangas Highway (Route 112)and or the mountwashington Autoroad is a requirement I think... I beleive it's route 16 north off of 112 to get to the AutoRoad..

And Although it may or may not be out of your way..... Sigh... When I used to deliver frozen pizzas to gorcery stores for Tobstone/DiGiorno I covered a route up in Northern VT/NH

This was before I was even on a Bike and I always thought how nice it would be to go through this area on a bike... Off of 89 north in VT (north of Burlington take the Exit for route 2 and then look for I think Ferry road....You can take a ferry accross lake (if not then you can take route 2 north and it crosses champlain and youn highway slab to platsburg on 87) Champlain to plattsburgh find route 3 and misc other roads that head south that I beleive are a dieing for my motorcycle to ride on... you will not be far at all from Saranac Lake for good local beer and then Lake Placid to relive the 1980 winter olympics... Absolutely breathtaking views from what I remember and I'm dieing to get up there someday on the bike...

But again that might be off of your intended trail....

    Thanks for the info

Thanks for taking the time to reply,

I actually bought the bike in Burlington VT, and your 100% right the Kangamangus is good; and for visual stimulation the Franconia Notch in NH is pretty impressive.

For western Mass, you'll enjoy the "Mohawk Trail" RT 2, west of I-91. Very scenic and curvy. Sometime there can be a few LEOs out there so be careful.

For a twisty time, take a ride on Rt116 from Deerfield and follow it west. It has plenty of entertaining turns on it.

Also check out this page for some routes in the area.

You can download the routes and use in a GPS or just check them out on a map.
