So its been a while since I've posted but I've been entirely to busy riding. I bought my bike 3 months ago and have put 5-6K miles on it already and I love every second of it, but I'm starting to feel that my suspension is in need of some attention I'm a bigger guy 240 pounds and I just don't think this suspension was designed with me in mind I'm finding that I have to tilt the bike almost all the way straight up so the side stand doesn't hit the ground. is this normal if so then I will leave it be, but i think i need a stiffer suspension in the rear and possibly the front how do I go about doing this. are the forks and the rear adjustable a little bit or do i need to rebuild them. (i'm still new to owning and maintaining motorcycles sorry if this is a N00bish question) And what are some upgrades that are relatively cheap, that I should look into, that add some performance or some practicality to these fantastic bikes.
Hmm - is it possible a previous owner has lowered the bike? Are you sure the side stand bolts are not coming loose? If you have the suspension set up right, its unusual to be grounding the stand until the bike is almost on the floor. Might be worth checking the rear triangle plates have not be messed with, the rear preload is not way too soft or indeed the forks dropped. If things look pretty much standard - then you might want to line up a session with a suspension specialist. Most places which organise track days will have at least one person available to help people dial in their suspension. Hopefully someone your side of the pond can recommend a specialist nearby. Good luck getting it sorted. SkiMad
Jamie D on the forum can hook you up. If you're DIY you can pick up some racetech fork springs and cut your own spacers. I have 1mm/kg race techs and weigh 215, they are much improved over the factory springs.
I am with Skimad, should check to mack sure if the bike have been lowered. When confirm give JamieDaugherty a call for your suspension need :thumb:
