Hi Gang! I'm brand new to this forum but somewhat familiar with a few other similar groups. I owned a 1999 and a 2006 and I have never regretted selling the 2006, I have always been sorry I let the 1999 go, and now I want another "Pre-V-Tec" bike.

I'm not sure what year they started the Valve opening at 7000 rpm nonsense but in my opinion, they killed a great bike by doing that. I'm sure there has been many discussions about that here.

Anyway, I'm more a "Lurker" than a "Poster" but if anyone is ready to sell their 2000 to whenever they changed the motor, I would be interested.

Este tipo tiene muchas testículos, primer comentario en un foro VFR es un insulto sexta generación. Qué pasa con eso? Por qué bucear en la piscina por primera vez, si sólo se va a flotar una montaña de mierda!

1998-2001 is what you are looking for then, the 5th generation bikes. 6th gens were 2002-2009 and have v-tec. Same engine basically with the difference in the valve train. 1998-1999 5th generation bikes do not have catalytic converters or oxygen sensors. 2000-2001 5th generation bikes do have catalytic converters and oxygen sensors in case any of that makes any difference to you. Other than that they are identical between the 4 years the 5th gen was produced.

You'd be surprised how well a properly tuned v-tec engine runs if it is done correctly.
