    HI Everyone,

Just sold my Ducati Hypermotard, and 999.

Looking to buy a VFR 800 or 750 (looking to spend $4000 or less)

any input on the best years, and what to look out for would be helpful.

    Thanks

    Matt

I'm going to make this short and sweet.

$4000 will get you a '98 or '99 VFR800, which happens to be the BEST two years of these bikes.

Here comes the incoming (ducks under bike) :chaingun:

'98 and "99 don't have catalytic converters, but they do have gear driven cams and fuel injection.

If you can find a 49 state bike that will be the frosting on the cake!

One major problem is the cantankerous regulators.

Do a search on this site and you will find lots of answers to that problem.

    Good luck ~

    Thanks Bob

I found one on cycletrader in Vallejo, it's got the mods I'd like done, see below
    2002 Honda Vfr800, VALLEJO CA - 106750473 - Cycletrader.com
the price/mods seem right, but I'm curious about potential issues, and whether the power to weight will keep me happy?

and have a friend that has a 2000 gsxr1000 for the same price, it's cherry and only has 14k miles, I figure with lower pegs, heli bars and a corbin seat, it wouldnt be a bad ride (basically how I had an old TLR1000 set up)

    thoughts?

you can email me direct is you like

That price is fair fair for 02
I am sure with 4k you can find a better deal just have to look.
    +1 with Porchesbob statement above.
