I've had my 2003 VFR about 2 weeks, and my VF750 since '83 (in storage for last 6-7 years). My '83 would pull like a truck from 1000 rpm to redline, VFR doesn't like to pull smoothly until 3K, normal?
Many versions of crank shaft designs over the years and gen 6 is the worst at low RPM's in my humble opinion.
Ride the clutch friction zone to gain more revs quicker. Get more power and revs going, then grab as much as you like without dragging down engine revs. Clutch slipping can be done without excessive wear if you know how, not like a car. :star:
Update: Did the PAIR Valve mod (blocking) and added used PC III USB, thanks to Superman7, remapped PC III and made my own O2 eliminators (only 330 ohm resistors!), much smoother! So am I, as I am getting use to the bike.
Could it be that VTEC crap they went to in 2000? I Took a 99 for a spin and it pulled from off idle to 8K easy. then a few weeks later I took a 2001 with VTEC and that thing felt like a 250 rebel anywhere below 3500-4000 rpm. I would love a 2000 up but I do not want that VTEC crap on it.
