Ok, I have decided on a couple small mods to my "new" 02 VFR......it has the Microns for exhaust already and was thinking about a K&N, this flapper door and the pair valve block mods. I've seen people talk about it, I tried searching for it but I cant seem to nail down where someone actually explains on how to do these 2 steps. I'm hoping to make this rideability issue around 4-5 grand (VTEC I believe?) less noticeable and maybe picking up a few ponies as well. Someone has mentioned that it feels like the engine's starving for fuel but I feel it seems like someones trying to apply the rear brake....to me anyways. So if someone has a link or a detailed explanation for these 2 mods, that'd be great!
Skip those mods and get a PC3. If that's too expensive, get a techlusion TFI box at about 1/2 price of PC3. Cheaper still, get a used TFI box (many 4 cylinder bikes use the same 1020 model). I got my TFI of flea-bay for $25 since it had a small crack in the case. Works GREAT! Don't expect to find a great price like that tho', I just got lucky. You don't need a laptop to download maps since it's a manual type of adjuster. Go to their website http://www.techlusion.com/ for more info. Also, you can get 300 ohm transistors at radio shack to bypass the O2 sensors for either device. 99 cents vs $30 from K&N
what exactly are those mods he's asking about? the flapper door and valve block? speak in simple terms, im not bike literate yet
