I never have a problem with old threads when there is something new or when the elapsed time has allowed for a more even overview. Brakes are very important and this issue has always been quite debated.

I wish one could easily flick a switch to set Linked brakes on or off.

I don't hate them, dislike them though. It's good on the street for commuting and stuff. Sucks for spirited riding, and they made the rear squirm while braking hard on the track. Like many have said, it's not a track bike, I get that.

Trail braking seemed to work pretty well though. I've heard that some people drag the rear to settle the chassis while turning in. When I trail braked into a turn off the pit straight it seemed pretty stable, maybe due to that one piston in the rear engaging and settling the bike as I turned in. Overall though, sucks on the track.

I love my VFR, but my next bike will not have linked brakes

    I agree with above ^^^

I ride on the aggressive side of "street" and have never had a moment where I lost my cool over the linked brakes. By now, I don't even notice them much and I do like trail braking on the viffer as opposed to a few others I've riden. If I were going to track it, I would probably de-link them for good.
