The kickstand sensor on the 97 VFR750 I just bought is busted - is there a way to bypass it?

    Thanks

What is it doing? If it wont start with the kickstand up in gear did you try neutral ? Its a good thing to have it working as it will warn you if its down thru the light and also if you go to take off when its in gear....

I'll start the bike in neutral, but when I put the kickstand up & then in gear, it dies on me. I looked underneath & saw that the kickstand sensor is broken.

Ill look and see if I have a spare for you, otherwise you can bypass the wires to it if you need to be able to ride.

Thanks - I was just looking to see if there is an easy way of bypassing it till I can get a new sensor. I will probably go by there tomorrow & either order or get one.

You can by-pass it by grounding the switch. I had to do it on my wifes old katana because the spring had gotten weak and the stand would fall far enough down to cut the bike off while riding it. I would just use it as a temp. fix though.

I ended up connecting the green wire to the green & white wire - just got back from giving it a short test ride :D. I'm use to my Harley so its taking a bit of getting use to.
