Having cut my teeth, so to say, on curisers, I've enjoyed thousands of camping/touring miles in the western US. In the summer of 2010 I purchased a 2009 ST1300. I couldn't believe what I'd been missing relating to gear storage/carring, gas mileage and especially in the road handling. That being said I sold my cruisers, kept the ST and have now purchased a 2010 VFR1200F to truly enjoy the mountain roads where I live.
