I have worked under the UN for a bit on one deployment, my assesment is the UNs' bark is worse than the bite. we weren't allowed to do anything except MAYBE defend ourselves. folks know that it takes an act of the UN counsel to let the troops that are under the juristiction to be able to fire a weapon. sending in the UN would only get more people injured/killed.

Basically jews where allowed into what is now Isreal in limited numbers, but more jews wanted to come. they poured in to leave Europe leading to imigration issues.
The arabs revolted and attacked the jews and britan did nothing to help them.
they formed a militia but it was policy not to respond to these attacks and only act as a defence.
Some rebeled from this milita and commited attacks, britan seperated the jews and arabs.
In 1939 fear of war lead britan to favor arab because they wanted there help in the war so they produced the 1939 white paper preventing even more jews from emigrating or leaving europe including germany. jew could also not purchase land in palastine.
so before the war jew had no where to go to flee germany and after the war we kind of upset and wanted to be able to move there. Britan was preventing them from doing so. that lead to the tensions.

That sound about right? i won't support the bombing of britan's embasy but you can understand why they did it.
Britan would not allow the UN in, and by the time the UN did get in they had to create a jewish state.

Now the comparison

Jews faught for a place of saftey to make there homes. they where not welcome anywhere as no country would take them.(i mean what jew would stay in nazi germany).
So they tried to emigrate to there home land but where stopped by britan. They where then slaughtered, and when further denied a save place they acted out.

Palastine has a safe place, they are under attack from no one. Yet there stated goal is to kill every last jew and has been that way since Mohmad walked around cutting off heads long before isreal. They have been fighting and killing jews since Islam was invented. They object to jews living there, not people living there.
They bomb every day to kill as many as they can, isreal has never done that. To even claim they are similar shows no understanding of history.

No Isreal is not perfect, but compared to the raving lunatics of palastine they look like saints.
