My '01 FI with 21,200 miles suddenly seems to have started a gentle pogo action. I firmed up the rebound to 1-1/2 turns off max and turned up the spring from position 2 to 3. Although it felt higher and firmer at first I still get that soft pogo bounce. I'm about 195lbs suited up and normally commute solo on the bike. Are the Showas known for doing this?

    1) What are good settings for my weight on the stock Showa (in case I'm going the wrong direction)?
    2) Is the shock suddenly shagged? I don't notice any leaks.
    3) If it is, what's the best replacement?
    4) Rebuilding suggestions would have to be pretty convincing; I live in London, England, by the way.

    Thanks,
    Bob Hartmann

OK, shock was shagged. It finally started leaking. www.davidsilverspares.com let me order an OEM replacement online but then emailed today to say it'll take SIX weeks to get one in stock.

What's the best place to buy a replacement?

Go aftermarket, probably cheaper AND they can be rebuilt instead of thrown away. Try Fox, Penske, etc.
