Honda........WTF???

Hey Elf, punktuayshun & speling... Ever heard of it?:biggrin:

Anyway, I've said it before & I'll say it again. Honda is doing to itself EXACTLY what GM & Ford did to themselves. Somewhere along the way, they stopped caring about being the best, just the biggest. The main difference is Honda actually made quality products whereas GM & Ford did not for the better part of 2 decades. While their products are always decent, they are not, in most cases, class leading or groundbreaking. They rely on the fact there are some people that "will only buy Honda's". Think about it, how many of us on this board only own Honda's? Since Honda has been resting on it's reputation, just about every bike Honda makes, with a few notable exceptions, IS NOT the best in class for whatever reason. Fortunately, with motorcycles, the design timeframe is usually under 4 years, meaning there will be a complete new from the ground up model in less than 4 years. Honda must be paying attention to all the backlash they are receiving from places like this & thier dealers. Hopefully this year, Honda will finally wakeup & start doing what it's customers want instead of what they think we want. A fantastic example of this is the new CBR. I don't give a crap if the new CBR1000RR is so fast it can reach "Ludicrous Speed" (from the movie Spaceballs in case you didn't know) , it's BUTT FREAKING UGLY. Lots of guys will go take a look, throw up, leave & go buy a R1 or GSXR-1000.

The VFR is another prime example. Think of how many bikes Honda would sell if they would simply listen to what their customers have been saying for years. The average VFR owner wants a bike:
V4
SSSA
livable ergos
gets good mileage
handles just as good as most sportbikes
livable for 2 up
more than one freaking color choice
goes on a 65lb diet
MORE HONDA ACCESSORIES!!!
same warranty as the ST's & GW's
priced right at $10K

Do that & they will sell.

Yea I own 2 6 gens (well if you can call one that, since it pumps more HP than your so called 1100 that I have also owned once, & could smoke it on any track do to mods).
I have noted also that the '04 will go by by, as soon as Honda wakes up & builds a better VFR or I get another manu's bike for my daughter to have the Sprint.
That way I can Give away the 04 6th gen to my Sister(now rides a VTX1800), since even my daughter thinks it's a slow pig & prefers the Sprint.

Don't even bring up AMA, since there on the down & out anyway's :clap2:

As for cheating, if AMA was as strict as they are with Honda to Suzuki, Maladin would be short 1 or 2 championships when they illegaly ran the traction control 3 seasons back, & got caught but was down played even after Honda's protest( AMA doesn't really like Honda ).

Like I said B-4, Josh wasn't with Team Honda/HRC, they just get some Honda support. Miguel was still moving up in the pack even with mechanical problems, which goes to attest that even then, broken Honda's still go, showing the durability of there product.

Al, You have a legendary history with the Honda AMA racing team and can fairly be credited with assisting in numerous Honda victories and championships, but after defecting to another team (why, Al??) and returning to Honda YOU must take some blame for the negligence and ineptitude of the AMA FX/Superbike/Superstock racing efforrt.

After running 3 leading bikes out of gas in last year's Daytona 200, for which several people should have been sacked on the spot, now we have further causes to suspect your dedication to your job, and this year's poor results at Daytona were an disappointment and embarassment to all Honda fans!!!
