    First time poster, here.

Picked up a 2000 VFR800 back in January of 2008. Its been a great bike so far. Had some "winter months" here in New Jersey to contend with, but I've racked up about 800 miles so far.

Its been a while since I've rode; about 8 years or so. (On occasion I've ridden a friend's bike, but nothing steady).

I'm sure there is a separate part to the forums for this, but I'm looking to find out some information on either clubs or organized rides in the New Jersey area. I've done some research on the internet, and it seems that most of what I come across the members frown upon non-American bikes.

If you can point me in the right direction, that would be great.

Very nice forums here, and seems quite informative. Good job, folks.

Welcome to the forum! Glad to have you! Here is a link that you can look for threads about rides in your area, and/or post up a new thread (I recommend this) about looking for riders in New Jersey.

I feel your pain. Everyone in NJ seems to look down upon sport bikes. I've been riding here for years & have never seen a sport bike club. Even the charity runs I participate in are HOG centric.

Rt29 is a great ride as is North East PA & just across the NJ/NY border near West Point & Middletown.

    Duty schedule permitting, I'll ride.

    KC-10 FE out...

You can look here New Jersey Motorcycle Clubs and see if one suits your needs. Looks to be extensive all though I have not contacted anyone from the list.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the info so far. I'll keep searching.

I'm not much of a computer guy, so...

VFRShorty - I have no idea how to post a picture. Hell, I don't even know how to quote what you typed above!

I can tell you that it is yellow. It has a tinted windscreen, Corbin seat. Its not mint shape, but its pretty good. There is one little scratch about an inch long on the left side.

One more question for you folks: How do I change my preferences so that I don't get an e-mail every time someone makes a post? Luckily I'm an owner in my firm, so no big deal that I get personal e-mails, however, I'm a bit concerned if every time someone responds to a thread I've started that I get an e-mail sent to me at work. I get enough e-mails at work already!!

    Help!! :)

let me see if I can help....

    to quote one person:
hit the button that says "quote" right below their post
    [IMG]

    to quote multiple people:
right next to the quote button described above is a button with two sheets of paper and a little green spot with a + in it, hit that for as many people as you would like, and when you are ready to start typing hit the quote button
    + button [IMG]
    quote button [IMG]

    To attach a photo:

hit the "go advanced" button at the bottom of the page where you can start typing a reply. On the new screen you will see some options below, hit the button that says "manage attachments", a window will pop up and you can upload photos.

    OR

If you have a image hosted somewhere (Flickr, imageshack, photobucket, etc) you can paste the code right into your reply box

    Forgot about your email question...

at the top of the screen, put your mouse over the "My Settings" drop down, from the menu select "Settings & Options" then "Edit Options"

On that page it has the email settings and some others.
