My VFR has seen better days. Ive never actually seen rust on a motorcycle either. The bike was given to me for a couple favors i did for a friend, ofcourse non-running. He also got it for free,so basically what im thinking is track bike. I talked to a bike mechanic and he said its hard to swap anything into them, and i wanted to simply take the old beaten 750 out and i want to put a suzuki 750 srad motor in it just for some more balls. I was thinking just take it out and mod the mounts in, grab all the suzuki parts necessary like the tac and other gauges, i already have the start switch and key ignition and all the other things like the turn signal/horn/light switch.

i just wanted to get an opinion, becuase this being my first motorcycle thats not two stroke and simple as hell.

    any other ideas are welcome

Parting that bike out bike sounds like the best idea!!

( I've got some needs, others too)

MAYBE get junk yard VFR motor to switch over if yours is bad.

Forget about putting a different motor in VFR frame, won't work!!

Sell it by parting it out & by a bike closer to what you want, OR p/u a F2/F/3 front wheel to have a 17 wider front & get the rest of the bike to work for a track bike.

The motor swap can be done with the right tools & modifications, "BUT" unless your a excellent fabricator/mechanic I'd forget it & once done will handle like Sheeit anyways :yield:

Remember the V-4 is narrower than the in-line 4 & the counter-shaft sprocket on the in-line 4 will stick out further messing with the chain alignment/operation, unless you offset the motor which will mess with the balance of the bike:frown: .
