Habs or the Senators in the finale? Personally, I'm hoping to see the Habs and the Avs in the playoffs. Although I agree it would be better for the game for the Habs to win...I must remain loyal and say the cup will reside in Colorado this year  and to really get the S&^t going...... GARY BETTMAN RULES!!!!!! kidding...the evil gnome must die
Aye I miss Ray.....he brought class to the game. I mean real class. Ok I admit....I cried watching him hoist the cup. And I must say the city Boston was really cool. They took out billboards in Denver wishing Ray and the team luck...I think it's one of the best moments in sports. Right up there with the Miracle.
EXACTLY! When I was a kid, sports figures like Mike Schmidt, Ray Bourque, etc were someone to look up to. Now? I want to punch most of the over-paid cry babies in the mouth when they complain that they should get paid 10.7 million/year instead of 10.2 million. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira got paid less than $250000 for winning the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Some American Football players get almost that much for ONE 1/4 of a game. BS... KC-10 FE out... lane: :usa2:
Now are we talking the greatest player ever or the real boys of Hockey history¿¿¿¿¿ Rocket Richard, Bobby Orr........... Any more thoughts. Wildwr
I'm a huge Sharks fan, this is their year! Best player ever? I know it's cliche, but for me it's Gretzky. I'd love to say it's Messier, as he was my favorite player growing up, but he just wasn't as good as the Great One.
I so don't want to see the Sharks in the 2nd or 3rd round. Best player ever? Overall best player? Or best player by position? is this limited to the NHL? Best player ever ...... I have to say Bobby Orr Best player to never player in the NHL .... Tretiak without a doubt by position c/f - prolly gretzky d - orr without a doubt...but borque is a close second g - tretiak....but in the nhl.....Roy I guess. Had Sawchuck lived a few more years...then I would have said him. worst commisioner of all time - bettman
How interesting things may have been if he had, I firmly believe he'd be talked about as the best net minder ever. No arguement here on Bettman, but I do blame the NHLPA a little bit too.
I am going to say Orr. He revolutionized defensive play and was amazing to watch. Left the game far too soon.
i don't get that whole thing of a guy leaving a team to get on to a contender! just because he was a good/great player doesn't mean he needs to win a SC to say that his career was a success! too much of that stuff going on now a days which makes no sense to me!
wow. the man played for boston for 20 years....knew he didn't have much longer to play....and just wanted his name on the cup. isn't that why they play the game....for their name to be placed on the cup? isn't the stanley cup the most elusive championship in sports? he wasn't overpaid....he asked to be traded to a contender for a shot at the cup....boston wasn't going to do it. I thought it was cool boston worked it out and SUPPORTED his decision.
it wasn't a shot at him in particular. i just don't see why we should feel pity in a sense if a great player doesn't get a SC ring. i'm a fan of Sundin yet would'nt be upset if he retires without a cup- it seems he does not seem to care either way (not waiving his no trade clause)! so many players come and go without a taste of the champagne. he was one of the fortunate few that got on to the right team! btw- gretzky is my pick for greatest ever. also i like the sharks or the stars to meet the rangers in the finals.
