    Hey guys,

I just bought a 2008 VFR new from the dealer and decided I would have a go at the saddlebag install. It is turning out to be a bigger project than I expected but I have learned alot about my bike, and finally have an excuse to spend hours in my garage.

Anyways, I am having trouble understanding the instructions that came with the bags. My biggest question is where does bracket C go? I also am unclear how to line up bracket a and b through the fender. Any help is greatly appreciated!

btw, you guys have a great site and I have already learned alot just browsing!

I also have the bags allready installed on my bike. I did however take them off to repaint the racks, what a waste of time that was. I had trouble getting the bracket that goes behind the tag lined back up. I ended up realizing that Honda made their clearances waaaaay too tight and the brackets just don't align properly. So I tightened down everything else, and stuffed a drill of the appropriate size through the holes so they would line up properly, bolts went in much easier after that.

:welcome: and post up some pics of what you're having trouble with and maybe scan or photograph the instructions so we can better help you figure it out, pictures are good, we likey pics!

    hey guys

thanks for your offers of assistance. My son and I spent Sunday taking it back apart and putting it back together again. We figured out where the bracket C belongs and then all the various pieces fit together like they were supposed to fit. The instructions were a disaster and not at all helpful. But, we got it done and feel good for having done it ourselves.

For others out there, I would recommend not trying unless you can locate more detailed schematics. You're better off letting the dealer do the install.

    Thanks for your help.
