Congrats and welcome aboard. How many miles on that? Has the luggage rack on it - did you get it with bags? If you really want to enjoy, try putting an aftermarket exhaust. Your grin will turn into a shit eating grin. That doesn't sound like a good thing, but it is.

Yep got full honda luggage, and back rest for the lady It has 15000 miles on it, one owner from new. Looks like he really looked after it. would love to put a louder exhaust on it, but currently torn between various upgrades and farkles and not much dosh left hehe. Looking forward to really getting used to her. Its a totally different and more involved experience then the Tiger, feel like i'm learning all over again!

Welcome Tim:wave: what is your Farkle list in order of preference. For me it would be a toss up between exhaust (let that V8 sound out) and PCV (improved fueling )Oh and I always appreciate my heated grips on those colder days. So what's you thinking about? John

Nice to see such friendly people on this forum! My list for farkles is: Suspension upgrade (at least the front, its good on flat roads but HELLISH with london potholes) PCV and louder exhaust (or baffle mod) Will have to wait on these though as I have the 16k service coming up. I think I will do everything myself apart from the valve adjustment. I wonder if it even needs adjusting... any obvious signs? I do get some slight surging and low speeds in 1st and second only, the tacho is a little up and down +-100. Vibration is momentarily strong at around 7000rpm then lessens but still remains for the rest of the rev range. (got to 110mph and then wimped out hehe)
Good choice with the suspension. As for valve job, that's open to debate. I think that most guys on here wait until at least 25-30K before considering having it done. And I'd bet that 99% of these same guys report back that everything was in spec. Of course every bike is different, but I'm willing to bet you could probably wait a little longer. The surging might be related to the stock fuel/map. Once again, plenty on this site have said the addition of a power commander cleared it right up. But then again, I know guys who had no issues. Not sure what RPM's you are getting the 1st and 2nd gear surging in, but keep in mind these bikes don't do well under 3000rpm. For me, I prefer to keep RPMs in the 4000+ range if possible. The engine will definitely lug at 3000 and under.
Welcome. I just put a PCV on my 09 and it cleared up all the low rpm surges and such. Much better low and mid range throttle response.
that is very pleasing to hear. A power commander would certainly be cheaper then a valve check. Upon installing the PCV did u eliminate the o2 sensors? And which map did you use with stock exhaust? I do try to keep it about 4000, 3500 atleast. Out of the city this is not a problem but when commuting it is a little on the difficult side, if not purely due to how much concentration is taken up on the clutch control... I have a little flat spot just before the vtec kicks in, is this something a power commander clears up to? Thanks for the consistent help!
The PCV comes with the O2 sensor bypass adapters. Very simple install, takes longer to remove the left side fairing than to install. I loaded a map from their data base, I have AMF pipes on mine and chose the Micron map with stock air filter. They have one for stock exhaust and stock air filter too. The PCV did smooth out the vtec transition considerably. That transition under full throttle was rather abrupt. Now it feels more like a gradual dialing on of power, much smoother.
