Hello, Always wanted to be member of a vfr club, but never had the bike, i had a deauville for 6 yrs and have been off the road for 18mnths now. But tomorrow all going well, I will be the new owner of a 98 vfr 800, I cant wait! few things that have me doubting the bike are, no toolkit, no owners manual, one key, no grab rails, no grab rails, no original exhaust, these are things that i would like to see going with any bike, other than that it looks mint and i will update the R/R, heated grips, and any other mods myself...... im really strechting my budget out for this one but it seems a resonable price either way for the miles, (1650euro for a 20ooomile 98 model). Anyway thats all for now gl :congratulatory:
Welcome to the world, first order of business when the bike becomes yours is you know what they say "pictures or it didn't happen".....
Welcome. From your picture, you seem to have a number of riders in the family! The Deauville is a great bike but I think you will find the VFR a bit more exciting. Mine did come with no grab rails since it has the solo seat. I only got the one key and I purchased mine from a dealer.
Welcome to The World Mark, some of those missing items can be found here at times, check the classified section, sometimes you get lucky. As far as the owners manual, there are electronic copies floating around here somewhere but it's been a while since I've seen the link to them. You can sometimes find them on eBay (not everyone's favorite but hey, gotta find it somewhere) or possibly order them new from helminc.com but not sure if the sell the non US versions though. My 5 Gen only had one key too, I got a blank from the local Honda dealer as well. Slante!
Thanks and Happy Paddys day, got my insurance quote today 300euro, 450ish dollars, good enough but ill play it off the other companies over next couple days.... got the pdf manual on the laptop and a haynes manual ordered, nearly good to go!
