Hello everyone how are you all doing today? I'm doing great just waiting for the hubby to get off work so we can go for a ride. Were looking to purchase a couple of bikes here in the next couple months but were not sure what we want yet. We know we want it to be two wheels and fast!

I'm barely 5 foot with my shoes on so I'm looking for something low enough that I can touch the ground and not so heavy I'm just going to fall over. I don't even know where to start.

You may want to consider a CBR 250R or a similar bike.
    2013 CBR250R Overview - Honda Powersports

I love my VFR, but without a lowering kit, it would probably be too high for you, and for an inexperienced rider, maybe a little too heavy. Compared to my old KZ, the VFR is nimble.

First, (if you have not done so already) take a BRC rider's course through the MSF, and make sure you have good gear. The plus of the BRC is that in most cases they supply the bikes to ride.

I agree with soloii on every recommendation.

The new 250 has had some GREAT write ups, but it is a bit underpowered. The Kawasaki 250 Ninja might also be a good choice.

If you want to stick with smaller Honda's, MAYBE you could find a VFR400 or locate a decent .... wait a minute ...... OK, looks like squirrelman isn't around ... a decent VFR500 (those would be older) in your neck of the woods might also be a good choice to start with.

My friends wife has the same challenges. The only bike she fits on is an older Kawasaki Ninja 250. She keeps up with the big bikes at normal speeds on the highway and gets an amazing 65 mpg. Get the spec's and check the seat heights to compare. Seat width will also play a role.
