Hello Everyone!! I'm new to this forum...I currently am riding a Kawi Ninja 500R, and have been lusting over the Interceptor. I've been riding for 5 months now, and have put on 6,800 miles on my bike. I'm now in the market for an Interceptor...just racking my brain on what year, new/used, color, ABS or no ABS...etc. I'm in this forum to meet other VFR owners and to gain insite on what my next bike is going to be. I'm currently debating on purchasing a brand new red '07 VFR w/o ABS, or a '05 Silver VFR w/ ABS ($2K savings from an '07), or an '06 black VFR w/o ABS (approx $1K savings from an '07). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Welcome on board :first: Glad to have you onboard. My 95 VFR doesn't hve ABS, linked brakes, and has gear driven cams. This is my preference. All are good. ABS may save your life!
Hi VSP and wlecome to the group. I have a 93 and like Legs, I do not have ABS or linked brakes and also have the gear driven cams. I prefer the gear driven because they sound awsome. I haven't ridden, or even sat on, a newr model VFR so I can't really give my opinions on it, but they are still pretty much a reliable machine that can do just about everything but off roading. I say test ride one with and w/o the ABS and see which you like better and go from there.
hi and welcome to the club. i would never be one to discoourage anyone from owning a VFR but if you have only been riding 5 months, be careful in the transition. the VFR is a much more serious motorcycle than the ninja. the power difference will be noticeable, and the weight also. the VFR will feel like a hog to the ninja... it's a great bike, but it can throw you if you push too hard on her.
