Hey guys, I've been reading the forum for years but never got around to joining or posting. I'm now on my second VFR. I had a 2006 with its fair share of problems and eventually sold it to purchase a Kawasaki ZX12R. After riding a 2010 6th Gen and finding the problems with the 06 were just limited to that bike, I sold the Zed and purchased the '10. So far it has been faultless, although these days I do my own servicing. Rebuilding stuff is my hobby; I'm in the process of rebuilding a Yamaha 98 R1 and have a 1980 Honda CX 500 waiting in line after the R1 is complete. Well, rebuilding is a bit of a stretch; if I can find a way to make something run to its Engineered limits, I'm happy. Something always needs a bigger donk Bike? Bigger donk. House? Yeah, that too. Why not. - Adrian
Welcome aboard Adrian. Like most of us, I am sure you will find lots of things to upgrade to make your bike just right for your use. What makes sense, really depends on what you plan using the bike for, and how well the stock bike fits you. If you make a regular commuter run then you will probably find the stock bike is pretty well sorted, just ease off the wing mirror pivots - in case you find a gap starts to close. Whatever you plan to use the bike for, you should find loads of relevant info and discussions here. There are plenty of posts on common mods like what is the best way to lower or raise the ride height, how to move the handlebars to a more comfy position and the merits of aftermarket seats to keep you and your pillion happy. If you plan any long distance runs then you may be interested in things like adding charging points, or mounts for a GPS. skimad4x4 6th Gen Militia #218
