I picked up my 07 RWB last Sunday and am having a great time getting to know it. I've been riding forever but for the past few years went the way of the Harley and a Yamaha Road Star. I don't know what I was thinking.. Just backing those tanks out of the garage was a chore and they seemed to have to work hard just to get down the road. It's actually fun to ride again. I'm old school so I'm taking the "easy" break in approach. I'll probably do one or two mods, gen-mar or heli bars, double bubble windshield. I appreciate any feedback. Thanks
Thanks for the welcome. I see lot's of posts about the helibars but not much about the Gen mar. Are there issues with the Gen Mars?
I honestly have never put risers of any brand on a bike, however, I just hear more people using Helibars. Gen Mars have been around for awhile, and they are probably just as good, I just personally don't know anyone who uses them. Somebody on here probably does though.
Welcome Fache1. Isn't it a magical machine? I got mine recently too and still cannot get over it. I had a night ride the other night and seemed to be able to focus more on the amazing qualities of the bike. You made two good choices: buying a VFR and joining up here. (Oh, I cannot help you with the bars stuff...I like mine just the way they are.)
Fache Welcome. I'm partial to the RWB myself. I put the genmar risers on mine and it was enough of a difference to help with the tingling hands, etc. It's about a 10 minute process, and you don't have to remove or replace cables, or clutch lines. Like yourself, I've done a few mods, most just for comfort. Besides the genmar risers, I've put on the mirror extenders (best & cheapest mod), Zero Gravity Touring Screen, 12 volt powerlet, and Kuryakyn Battery LED. Good Luck with everything and enjoy the bike. By the way, wish we had some "Tampa" like weather right now! You've got sunny skies, and I'm looking at ice hanging off the trees.
Gotta like Tampa. How can you not like a city that has 6 Hooters in one city AAANNNDDDD the best strip club in the continental US? KC-10 FE out... lane:
I'll probably do the Gen mar. It seems just a little rise would fit better. It's pretty good stock. I've searched for a lowering dog bone but there seems to be one for most other Honda's and not the VFR. Any thoughts?
Yea it's a great bike. My work commute is close to 40 miles each way and as long as I don't get stuck in grid lock it's a great way to get to work.
We're pretty spoiled with the weather... now in July and August we pay the price. Miserably hot with at least one down pour a day.
