Hello gang. New member here and I do NOT own a VFR at this point, but I am seriously considering buying one. They look very cool. I currently have a 2008 ST1300 and love it, and also a 2007 VTX1300 which is also a nice cruiser. I'm currently selling the VTX because I like the ST better, but have recently started looing into the VFR. I want to have a little more power and I think the VFR should do it. I was looking at Blackbirds also but they are pretty hard to come by. Anyways, my question is, there seems to be a lot of 2010 models for sale. Are there any unusual issues with this year, or are there reasons to avoid it? Also, separate question is the DCT. One I have my eye on is a 2010 with DCT, which looks really cool. I watched a couple videos on it and I wouldn't mind having that. So any opinions here would be welcome.

    Thanks!
    Jim

Wife and I rolled one of these (yellow too) out of the shop a few times, once to a Mariners game so we could stow all of our gear.

They are awesome. Handle amazing, unlike the previous GL1500. Actually I should say the 1500 handles just fine, but low speed maneuvering was... I don't know. Vague. The front wheel was... somewhere... in front me. As soon as you relax and just let the bike do what it wants to do, you can do lock-to-lock parking lot shenanigans.

The 1800 on the other hand... there is not doubt a twin spar frame is between your legs. I'm just not a Wing-Dinger. ST1100 is as much "Tour" as I think I can do.

After the game we stopped at Dick's Drive-In in the U-District on the way home. It was PACKED, but there was a spot that just opened up RIGHT IN FRONT. The whole parking lot is like a bowl around the drive-in at the bottom. I drove straight in and parked nose down. A LOT of people noticed and I could see them whispering and smiling, "What the fuck is he gonna do with that huge bike?"

We had our Dicks Deluxe and Special and Fries. Mmmmm. Gearing back up and everybody started taking notice. I got on and... motioned for Sarah to get on. Now everybody is VERY interested. Started it up... pulled the REVERSE lever and pushed the starter button. Backed up out of the hole and you could see everyone start laughing like, "OH MY GOD!"

    IT WAS AWESOME.

That's a great story! And yeah Gold Wings are awesome machines. I'm not ready for that yet (maybe I'm not worthy yet!).
