Hello from the police state of New Jerseystan!
    My first posting here.
I'm the proud owner of a perfect, I mean MINT, '84 1000 Interceptor, bought off the original owner last spring. Got it with 16,400 miles, and I put over 4,000 miles on it last year.
One question, does the water pump cover have a paper gasket (I think not), or an o-ring (more likely), and where can I get one? Poor thing started weeping some coolant over the long & cold winter. Not very bad, but I want her to stay perfect in every way.

    Thanks,
    Chris

So, do I qualify as a VFR (even though it IS a VF) guy and NOT a "wannabe".
Oh, and since these pics were snapped, it's grown a NJ "Historic" license plate and the seat has been re-foamed, and re-covered in a dark blue suede with red stitching.
I can always post more pics!

I would say you qualify. Very nice bike. You don't see many like that in that kind of shape.

I also have EVERY original part that was on the bike when delivered! I'm torn as to whether to try and sell it or not, as there would be considerable $$$ to be made. I watched a auction on ebay go to the end last year, a week after getting mine, the bike wasn't as perfect as this one and it went for a hair under $6,800!!!!!!!!!!!! I promised the friend that sold me the bike I wouldn't sell it for at least a year. The big problem for me is.....................I really like the thing. The only thing that's kinda lame is the brakes, put in HH pads and they're better, but still not to great. Other than that, this thing is way cool.
