    Dear all,

I managed to buy back my trusty old VFR700FG which I brought back from San Antonio ages ago - or so it seems.....

The bike is in pretty good shape and was a blast to ride after so many years (had a few opportunities last summer). My everyday ride is a Triumph Scrambler....

I hurt myself pretty bad in 1999 in a bike crash, but now when the 50 yrs milestone lurks just around the corner I've started to compile my "Bucket list".... and the very first item is to "drag knee".... to get my lines correct enough, not to race agaisnt the clock.

I trust the old VFR is a perfect companion for this and since we share a long history with great Texan memories it will also be ride down the history lane for me. Just browsed thru my old-skool paper photos from our Sunday morning rides on Highway 16 to Bandera for a bikers breakfast and up to the Hill Country. Oh well.

Anyway, I will need a new shock, some race tech front springs, new brake discs, new tires some TLC and I should be allright.

Any ideas on choosing especially the tires and the shock for track use would be greatly appreciated. Will keep the original wheels so the tire choice is rather limited.

I still have all soft brake and clutch parts, race tech gold emulators and other misc parts - all brand new packed in the garage. Just as if I knew I'd be buying my old friend back some day. Hmm... Sometimes life is mysterious.

The bike has only about 40kmiles on it and after my bucket list project I might restore it to as new condition... just to preserve a little bit of my history for the next generation.

I already bought complete road race gear set for myself after the first snow fell - cheap as I am, I waited for the winter sale.

All the best, I will keep you guys posted on my progress !
