So about a month ago my fuel pump relay went bad. I found some posts about putting a jumper in place of the relay. I did that and everything worked fine. Until last week when i was in Ohio when the pump went bad. Got a new pump and finished my trip, made it home, and rode for a few days with no problem. Today i went out to ride and it died on me again. the pump stopped working, but only for about 30 minuets then it started again. got home and decided to look at the jumper i made, the little piece of insulation left was melted and burned. i put in a new heaver gauge jumper and it now seems to be running fine again. but whats to stop it from happening again.... what should i do to prevent this? this sucks because i love my bike but i am loosing my trust in it. even if i do getting it running god again ill probably end up selling it, im constantly having this thought in the back of my head, where am i going to break down next. :frown::frown::frown:
with a battery at 12.65v i am only getting 11.43v at the pump. is that ok? i was going to check continuity also but i cant figure out what to check it in between, the service manual is a little confusing to me.
damn gonna sell her because of a problem?? take it to the shop let them fix it for you I had a black box(not the good kind)go out and a fuel pump within the same week after that ran great....
its not just A problem. its been in the shop a ton of times, ive got probably 5 grand in this bike. every time i fix one thing something else goes wrong. not to mention that i am afraid to ride far now because i keep thinking that it will break downafter the next corner.i really dont want to get rid of it, but im pretty much broke now because of it.
