I've got a few issues now with fuel. When I give it gas if I turn the throttle quickly it dies. If I turn it slowly the rpm's rise, but keep rising for a few seconds after I let off the throttle. Also once it got warm gas started leaking from two of the diaphram covers on the carbs, and when I pulled vacuum hose from the block fuel poured out of the vacuum port. Any ideas. I know these might be simple fixes, but I'm new to all this stuff.

    thanks,

    Chris

When you look down through the carbs are the slides those round rubber things? One of those is sticking. Man that was a really close call. It was dumping so much gas into the right front cylinder that it seized. Luckily I was able to take the side cover off and get it unstuck. When I did a bunch of gas shot out of the spark plug hole. I guess it's cleaning time. Woo Hoo :( Good thing I've pretty much mastered the art of removing and installing those things.

Don't forget to change your oil!! If a cyl was full of gas, some of it surely seeped past the rings and into the oil. Gassy oil is no good.

I pulled the carbs today and cleaned them. When I got to the last one
the little plunger on the float needle was completely stuck so that
must be the problem. I hope it's still available.
