nah, i have brand new rotors on it. i found out which rotor is catching and where its
doing it, im gonna go down and take some pictures and put them on when i get back.
maybe you guys can see something i cant

ok, in the first image, the long red lines are where its catching for sure, the little red
arrows are where i marked when i was riding exactly where i think its catching.

second and third image are the little metal piece that clips onto the inside brake pad
i was talking about earlier. the one on the right side, which is the one grabbing for sure,
doesnt have one and the one on the on left does

also, notice how the right rotor is a different color than the left. does that have anything
    to do with it?

It really looks like the discs are canted at an angle, did you remove all the paper washers between the disc and whee, if on or two have been left it can cause runou.l

yes, right before i took the pictures i lifted the front wheel and took off the rotor. there were no washers at all. i think im gonna check how straight the rotor is again but use a piece of chalk this time.

    edit:
im convinced its the right rotor bad from the manufacturer. i left both rotors marked from the previous attempt to see where it was bent, then rotated the one i was certain is bad (right side) 3 bolt holes to the clockwise, then did the same thing again. i found that the rotor on the left, the line diagonal from the caliper didnt line up. but on the right, it was at pretty much the exact same spot. so, do you guys think its conclusive enough to send back the rotor and get a new one? i dont want to if i dont have to, ill be bikeless for probaly a week and a half to 2 weeks.

Take that rotor off and see if it fixes the problem.

i tried your suggestion since im taking it off to send back anyway, and yes, it does work. before i ship it off im gonna see if my friends dad, who has a metal shop, and see if he has anything to test if its straight or not. i really hope its not my rim, but if the left side is fine, the right should be too. and if it is the rim, would it work fine if i just took the rotor and caliper off and capped the line on that side? the last 3 dirt bikes ive had only had 1 rotor, but they also weighed a lot less. and back to the little metal piece missing on the caliper, i never got an answer on that. can someone that has an 86 look at theirs and see if the have one on both sides? and if someone knows what they do, that would be even better.

Yes It will work. I did it on a friends 06 GSXR.... he was trailering his bike out here (west TX) from Longview(East TX) when it fell over and bent the rotor. I pulled the caliper and 2nd line and plugged it. Afterward we went to big bend where he put about 500miles on the bike with only 1 rotor.
Glad to hear you atleast know what the problem was.

well....good news and bad news. i went over to my friends house just now and had his dad check the rotor. hes a machinist so he has all kinds of crazy measuring stuff. well, we put it on a flat piece of granit and measured it with feeler gauges. on one side a .009 fit under and opposite from that a .004 could go under it. i said well, i guess that was it. as i was walking away he said, let me try something else quick. so he got this thing out that looked like a C clamp and tightened it up on spots the whole way around it. the half of the rotor that was catching and making my bike shake was 16 and all the rest of it was 13. i dont know what the 16 and 13 were, some measurement. but he said there was hardly any slope, it went from 13 to 16 within like 2 inches. im going to go ahead and say thats what it is and send this defective pos back. hopefully they wont take a long time to send me a new one.

    correction:
i called him up and asked what the 13 and 16 were and he said it would be .238 for the 13 and .241 for the 16

    EBC rotors

I just installed the MD1001 rotors and EBC HH pads. They worked great. I had to leave the paper washers in place. They are called dampening shims. Did you measure the distance between the calipers and the rotors? Without the shims, the caliper rubbed very slightly on the rotor.
