Is it an 86 or 87 shock? Looks kinda like my Twin clicker except my reservoir is grey.

 

Wow, that is a score. They are super easy to rebuild when it gets to that. A lot of the internal hard parts are still available too. I replaced all the seals and filled the nitrogen for about $45. Seals were $20, fill the nitrogen was $10 and $15 for the fluid. I like the red spring so I PC'd it while it was out with some red I had kickin' around.

 

***Dukie, I think all the twin clickers are the same. Will verify with JamieD tomorrow. It came off a CBR, so I hope it's cool.

Shock looks like the one on my Gen 111 bike. I paid 575 or maybe 600, fifteen years ago, been re-built once since. Nice score.

 

That's the same shock I put on my bike in 91. Great shock!! That's a great deal you got supertex. There are manuals on the web for those. Just got to hunt for them.

 

The 86 shock is about a half inch shorter, I think the Fox TC is a little bit adjustable in ride height,.

 

I just got a Fox for CBR600F2 off of eBay too, it's not new but looks good.

What options do we have to convert the lower end to the proper forked bracket? I know Jamie has some brackets he makes to mod the F2/F3/F4 shocks but does Fox make optional ends? I wanna install this on a VF500. I really love how much ride height adjustment the Fox units allow for.

I'm gonna send it to Jamie for the new spring and revalve but would prefer a one piece lower mount instead of a bolted on approach if available.

 

Not all Fox TC's have ride-height adjustment.

 

Hey David - just a follow up from our phone conversation earlier, that looks like a CBR600F2/3 shock from the picture.

 

I like the idea of using this one and mine to make a nice combination for me.
