    Anyone ever rebuild a set themselves......Mine are shot i think....I can pick the front of the bike up by the front stay and the bike moves up about 4" before it tries to move the front wheel

    Sounds like your springs are shot, and probably fluid as well. At the very very least, I would add new aftermarket springs, and fresh fluid. Check the seals to make sure they don't need replacement either.
