I am replacing the fork oil seals on my 85 vf500 interceptor. I have a question: The backup ring which rests between the slider housing and the oil seal has 2 sides - one is flat and has sharp edges, and the other is sort of rounded and smooth. Which side faces the oil seal? (And yes, I know I should have paid more attention when I took it appart). Thanks in advance.
