you know, as much as i love these old bikes and the way they run, its starting to suck that theres no aftermarket for the really neat toys that all the newer bikes get. what im lookin at now is the horrible eyesore that is my giant back fender with the nice steel plate hanging off it that just looks like crap every time i see it. at this point, i can pretty much rest assured that im going to need to take a saw or some cutting tool to that fender to get most of it out of the way, but im wondering if anybody has put together a fender eliminator for these 86-89 vfr's and might have a howto, or if there might be a kit out there that i can buy ready to install. anybody have any ideas?
I dunno about the older vfr's but its fairly common for people to do the hacksaw job on the rear fender, and by some aluminum or steel piece from the nieborhood Lowes, and make a plate bracket again with a hacksaw and screws. Its not that difficult. I did mine, I thing Reg71 did his, and there quite a few more here too. Heres a thread for you -- http://vfrworld.com/forums/body-modifications/3449-fender-removal.html MD
