Hi! Im new to the forum and new to the bike. I have just bought a 1986 VFR750 that's done about 48000 km. The bike is beautiful and in great condition. There is just one thing, as of now the bike has a Laser Carbon deep tone exhaust system and it has been jetted to fit this system. I am importing the bike to Norway. And when I get it to Norway I have to take the bike to the authority to get it approved. Here comes the problem, since the bike has a different exhaust than original, it can be a problem, but the original exhaust comes with the bike. So my questions is if I can put the original exhaust on the bike for the test, without re-jetting the whole thing? It will only run for 5 minutes and does not need to run perfect. Thanks beforhand for the response.

Should not be a problem at all, you probably would not notice any difference

Well, it ain't easy, but nothing a huge hammer and lots of tugging and cursing won't handle. I just removed my latest OEM system last week and it fought me all the way, though it may not have ever been off the 30-year old VFR700. I start by soaking the joints in parts loosener (PB Blaster), then tapping a screwdriver blade into the gasket joint to expand the joints while trying to avoid damaging the soft gasket (not really possible). Then tug, twist, pull and pound rearward till it all starts to separate. I've also tried disconnecting the front pipes and working them loose, then doing the above to pull the pipes clear of the upper (rear) pipes.

If your aftermarket system is not as tight a fit as OEM you may have a much easier job. Or if it hasn't been on the bike too long. Best of luck,
