I have yet to see this specific color scheme on the VF1000R. Ordinarily, the VF1000R K is in dark blue with red and white. Anyone have any info on this model? I like the paint job very much and am considering it for a repaint of my '86 VF1000R.

It was common in Europe and AUS. The US didn't get that scheme. If you Google VF1000R images, it will come up a lot.

Yeah, I have it before and have always admired its distinct lines, but the lighter blue struck me unusual as i had not seen it used before. it reminds me of the pale blue utilized on the RC-30 or the limited edition GSX-R 750 ('87).

The Australia models ( 1984) were predominantly RED , White and Blue, with the RED beiing the main colour , similar to DeckardVF1000R.
No other models were ever imported here by HONDA.

I think you might be surprised at how dark it really is. I bet it's very close to the other R's blue if not the same. Some pics on the web make it look light.

Yeah ,you might well be right on that. However, i still like it enough to consider it in my re-paint scheme.

Personally, the 1984 colour scheme is the best...See my Avatar....That combination is the " Real VF1000R" in my opinion..
