I have a VFR 1000 engine serial number SC16E 2102058 Can any of you tell me anything about this engine. Like what year it is, or if it really is a 1000cc engine or a 750. I bought it from a salvage yard and I am trying to gather as much info on it as possible. If you can give me a VIN number to match the engine number that would be very helpful to get parts. Thanks.
From what I can see, it is a 1000, VF1000RE-G SC16 MJ4 Model Info http://www.vsource.org/VFR-RVF_files/BHondaPCNs.htm A little confusion, but in the 2nd link it gives me the VF1000RE-G SC16 MJ4, in which I would asume makes it a 1000. Some stuff leads you no where on the 1st link, but some good info their also. Good luck
Yes, the SC16E denotes that it's a VF1000R engine. There are also other external ways to tell but these can be subtle to the untrained eye. These include items such as the bolt that holds the gear drive assembly, the black cam covers, wider heads, etc. By the way, it's not a VFR1000, no such animal ever existed. While it's obvious what you were asking about, using the correct designation (VF1000R) will help with searches and such.
