    The skill required is beyond "handy". You'll need metal working skills, welding skills, and an advanced understanding of frame structure. With the amount of work involved and the amount of parts you'll need to replace, as well as the fact that it won't handle as well as it would with the stock engine, you would be much better off to just by a VF750F (the whole bike).
    There's only a handful of people on here that could pull off such a project (myself not being one of them). And the people that could do it won't bother.

    that truely sucks Madaz....but yeah jsut to echo what is being said......it can be done ...you just need crazy mad skills.... way above "shadetree"..... not to demean your skills but its not a job for the faint of heart...

    Reg posted on an engine a member was giving away a week or so ago......will ship it to you if we can put it together.......shipping is up to you but will gladly box it up and take it to where it needs to go.....still want a pic of this thing......very curious as i have seen a couple of different versions of this bike we did not get in th U.S.

    The VF 500 engine has a poor record of reliability, and may have been one of Mr. Honda's worst blunders, and fitting something else takes major work.

    Not to say some few do not have good-running 500s but they are rare and getting rarer.

    It makes good sense to just buy a different bike, in practical terms, if you want to ride.
