electrical problem

    hello all! i have a 1998 vfr and the fuse for my signal/brake light/and horn keeps burning out. the high beam also doesn't light. is there anything i can do to fix this because the shop is charging me $80 an hour to check out the problem? thanks!:attention:

    For the fuse problem, try to trace the wires. I had a problem like that before and it was a wire touching a metal piece.

    the high beam may be a bad bulb
    unplug all turn signals and see if the fuse stays ok, then plug signals in one at a time to find when the fuse blows.

    If the above suggestions don't work try checking that the front break switch assembly isn't shorting out on the handlebar. Fix by wrapping electrical tape between the handlebar and the front break assembly to stop any shorting out. Worked on my '98 a few years ago when fuses began to blow. Occurred after shifting the front brake assembly up a bit for better comfort.
