Am I right in thinking the 5th gen earthing point is connected to the brake valve thing under the tank ( can't for the life of me think of its name ). If you delink the brakes and remove this part along with the steel linking pipes where does the bikes electric earth ?
Just put the earth wire back in the same place bolted directly to the frame. Make sure the frame is clean where the earth attaches.
