Earphones under helmet - help

I think we'd all agree that nothing beats a good 8 to 10 hour day out riding, but long about hour four I get tired of listening to the wind and would like some tunes. Does anyone have a recommendation on a good brand of earphones or ear buds to wear under a full face helmet? The stock iPod buds fall out the minute I put on my helmet. Thanks for any suggestions.

 

I use the one that have like a hook u put around your ear. That hold them in place pretty good

 

I just got the new bluetooth chatter box. The speakers velcro inside the helmst and are a very nice fit. This unit allows you to listin to music via bluetooth (mp3 phone) or wire plug in and you can talk on your phone or intercom your buddy or passenger. Have not had a chance to use it as I am awaiting my bluetooth phone.

 

I use the Etymotic Research ER6i Isolator In-Ear Earphones. Got them on Amazon for 75 bucks or so. Definitely worth the money in my book. They work as a headphone and as a earplug, blocking out 70-75% of wind noise. They are a little weird at first and some people might not like them because you have to put them pretty far in your ear to seal correctly. I wear ear plugs at work so it wasn't a big deal for me. If you go with those, Google the fishing line mod for them, so you don't have to pull on the wires to get them out.

 

+1. I use the skull candy ones and they work great.
They even come with different inserts to see what fits better in your ears.

 

I tried the Sony Fontopia version of these, and everytime I put my helmet on, it grabbed the thingys that go around the ear and dragged them off my ear.

I settled on the basic Sony Fontopia's. They work good as an outside noise blocker, and the sound is pretty good...however I am still on the lookout for something better...that completely blocks out all noise, so you can just hear tunes.

right now im using my voyager phone with aset of talk works ear buds from wallmart works great but my next purcherch will be the chatter box

 

I've been using the Shure E2 series with the foam earpieces. You can get them for about $70 on Amazon. I love them and Shure is a very competitive brand with big sound.

I use Westone UM2 in-ear earphones for under helmet tunes. They work great and really cut down on the background noise.

 

+1 on the sony fontopias. I finally broke one after using them for many months and picked up a cheap-ish set of creative labs in-ear headphones and for riding they work just as well and above the normal noise of riding a bike sound just as good.

I use Shure e3c with foam tips, never fall out
