What's up fellas! Got a dumb question - but this is my first hydraulic clutch so I figure I'd ask.

I changed my clutch fluid and everything went fine, I buttoned everything back up and pulled in the clutch lever - it felt fine. The weird thing is I heard a slight -SQUIRT- sound (sorry I know thats not the best wording haha) the first time I pulled it in. Only made that sound the first time I pulled it, so I though I had some air in the line. When I took it for a test ride it rode fine, shifted fine, was perfect.

Would it be obvious if I had air in the line? The clutch felt like it engaged/disengaged fine. Shifts great....I think I'm good to go, just wanted to be sure.

    Thanks!

The sound that you heard probably the initial engagement from push rod. Did you pump and dry shift before close thing up for a spin? I said you are good to go if you did something wrong you would know by now.

You heard squishy piston noises in the master cylinder. Long is right " if you did something wrong you would know by now." Go ride!

thanks dude - I sealed everything up and pulled the clutch once to make sure it was OK - I didn't realize at the time that a clutch level will still have pressure even with air in the line, unlike a brake line with air in it.

The bike was already in neutral so I cranked it up and pulled away. It went into first gear smooth, disengaged smooth (the bike will roll with the motor off and the clutch level pulled in), and shifted thru the gears smooth. I am in the city so I stopped at a bunch of stop signs and red lights, every time it felt just fine.

I think I'm good to go, it was just that initial noise that made me wonder.

Some earlier rider would have to be an insane ape/ dragracer fool to over-stress that bike in which case your tranny might complain. Good Luck with it. I think you're good to go.
