Recent owner of a 84' 700 and looking for a little basic advice: I need to drain my tank to replace my petcock, its leaking, and I'm looking for the easiest and most efficient method for doing so. My previous bike, a Vulcan was easy to do, but I'd like some insight on this one before I go making things harder on myself. Thanks!
how full is it? just open up the valve and let gravity do its thing,, or you can go to the store and buy a siphon pump. that keeps it from spilling.
I've got about a half a tank in there plus reserve. I'm trying to avoid the gas coming out of the petcock area as much as possible considering the paint and mess it would create. My vulcan had exposed hoses that ran the fuel from the tank into the petcock and then to the carbs. Anything similar here?
