    Hi,

I bought a 2006 VFR in October with 500 km on it. It rides great but I noticed that there is a distinctive noise when I downshift from 2nd to 1st (and only then). It is hard to describe but sounds like something being dropped and bouncing a few times (e.g. tick, tick, tick, tick, tick). I rode another vfr before buying this one and never noticed that sound. Is it common and, if not, should i be concerned?

I always thought that noise was the chain rolling on the sprockets. I have 27000 miles on my 04 , and I only notice it at low speeds, so I don't believe its been cause for alarm.

Could be as simple as either getting the chain tightened or just getting some lube for it! By the way come the summertime I hang out at Merivale/Meadowlands at the Tim Horton's along with alot of other bikes. Thurs, Friday, and the week-end nights check it out I'm the only yellow 5th Gen VFR that shows up there!

I'll check it out. I think I may have seen your bike at Darcy McGees in Bells Corners as well.
