Hi, I've had what I thought was an electrical problem with my VF500 with the indicators and brake lights, but it turns out, being a US import that this is the running light configuration. Feel a bit stupid to be honest but we don't have running lights in the UK and I even think they're illegal on bikes. Can anyone with any electrical know-how think of a way of wiring the front turn signals so they are off by default? I'm not worried about the brake light because I can just take one of the bulbs out. Cheers in advance.

The front turn signals use a dual-filament bulb: one is for the running lights, the other is for the signal. That means two wires running into the socket. I'd suggest figuring out which wire powers the running light and cut that wire, then tape it off.

Amateurhour, unplug the blue wire with the white stripe on the right front turn signal, and unplug the orange wire with the white stripe on the left front turn signal. Tape them off as Rev suggested, this will disable your front marker lights.
